The music association Fritz’s Corner wants to help young women take control of music. The goal is more women in the creative positions in the music industry. In the fall of 2012, the association Fritz’s Corner will start its mentorship program Power over music. The program is aimed at young women who want to become managers, agents or artist and repertoire managers, positions where women are underrepresented in today’s music life. The mentoring program brings together mentees who are at the beginning of their careers with mentors who have several years of experience in the music world and an interest in gender equality work. The idea is that the younger participants will be able to share in the experience and knowledge of older colleagues about the music industry, that they will have access to a new network as well as methods and tools to break unequal structures in the industry.
