Ivy Big Band is a brand new space for women and gender minorities to get involved in jazz in Edinburgh! They know that the jazz scene can be intimidating, especially for women and gender minorities. The aim of this project is to create an open, honest and encouraging big band setting where these groups are comfortable to get involved. The band is open to women, trans, non-binary and gender fluid musicians and will comprise of a full rhythm section, 4 trumpets, 5 saxes, 4 trombones and vocalists. They will be playing a wide range of jazz, funk, soul and pop that is bound to have you moving your hips and singing along.
