Discovering Gender Equity in Music across Europe
100% HER is Universal Production Music’s initiative dedicated to championing gender parity. They are creating a collaborative community in the music-making space, and facilitating sustainable career paths in the music industry for women. Led by Sam Pake, the project has been ever-evolving since first being announced in 2019. Over the past 5 years, they have launched album releases, vinyl pressings, songwriting camps, mentorship schemes, educational workshops and panels/talks. Though 100% HER first started in the UK, they are now a global initiative, with chapters in France, Germany, the Nordics, South Africa and USA.

The Songwriters Academy of Sweden / Musikmakarna created Female Songwriters Day in 2020. Today they have more than 700 members spread around 50 countries in a lobal network. On the 8th March each year they host a whole day of activities for songwriters including networking, writing sessions, and online sessions with industry experts.

The Write Girls is aimed at female pro songwriters; that means all songwriters working in the pro music scene, who aspire to grow and develop their skills and are diligent and ambitious. The Write Girls is music publishing 2.0. We do all the important stuff music publishers do; we collect pitch leads, pitch your songs to the international music community and expose your songs, toplines, tracks and beats through our platform to artists and film-, tv- and record company A&R’s looking for songs. (All of this on song-to-song basis: so, no long-term exclusive contracts.)

They also run the Future hitmaker programme which includes a songwriting camp ran by Spotify and beatmaking sessions for aspiring producers.
