MYM investigate and disseminate data, raise reflections and debates, conduct interviews with artists, promote albums and events made by women or with a gender perspective, and promote active and conscious fight against unfair situations due to gender in the musical field. They also host a database of female musicians to facilitate the discovery of new artists classified by genres, countries, eras, instruments… This directory also seeks to be a resource for people who are dedicated to musical programming and who want to break the gender gap. and the vicious cycle of underrepresentation programming women and people with dissident identities at their musical events.

Konstmusiksystrar (Sisters in Contemporary Music) is a network for composers and sound artists who define themselves as women, non-binary or transgender people. It was founded in 2014 by Marta Forsberg and Lo Kristenson, who at the time were studying composition at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Their website with its ever-expanding list of composers and sound artists functions as a vital resource for anyone interested in diversifying the commissioning and curating of contemporary new music. Together the Konstmusiksystrar members form a platform for a new generation of contemporary music.
